Description

To give or to receive; which is the best way?

Why do we give to others, especially in a society that seems to say that our primary goal is to accumulate wealth? Follow artists working for a year on an ephemeral project that lives only the week of Burning Man, and experience artists whose works protect a building (and its inhabitants) by transforming it into a living museum. Watch the public respond to art that gives or asks people to give a flower or a song. See a community that thrives in a giving economy and suggests that when you give away everything, you find real wealth in return. Inspired by the book, The Gift: Creativity and the Artist in the Modern World by Lewis Hyde, the film asks us to consider how the creative process celebrates life and inspires us to a greater good. -Kelly A. Harrison
