Description

A woman and her physician husband rent an old mansion for the summer
They move into the upstairs nursery where the wife is confined as a type of therapy for her condition, a perceived nervous breakdown. A contemporary adaptation of a seminal work of feminist literature (written in 1892 by Charlotte Perkins Gilman), The Yellow Wallpaper is the latest feature film from Spartan Film Studios, San Jose State University's premier film program. Through Spartan Film Studios, students work with faculty, staff, and industry professionals to create awardwinning feature and short-subject films. Prior films including All About Dad, Super Hero Party Clown, Glory Boy Days, Cheap Fun, and Always Learning—have been screened at Cinequest, Slamdance, and the Austin Film Festival and are available through numerous distribution channels, such as Netflix and Amazon. This Work-In-Progress screening and interactive workshop with the movie's makers will open the Hammer Theatre Center with panache!
